Sustainable Development is the hallmark of THW and, therefore , the business promotes a triple – bottom line philosophy as it goes about delivering its mandate – Profits/ Prosperity (Economic), People (Social) and Planet (Environment). THW seeks to contribute towards the following Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture.
Promote inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work.
Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts.
The key elements of this strategy include –
- Growing organic fruits and vegetables;
- Having renewable energy as the primary source of energy; and
- Composting of biodegradable waste with plastic waste compressed and donated to recycling firms.
